ABOUT US

MILLENNIUM BLONDE is a production company founded by husband-and-wife team Michael Borowiec & Sam Marine Borowiec, a filmmaking duo based in New York.

Together they’ve written, directed, produced and edited award-winning films, TV pilots and music videos, with a focus on creating unique, genre-bending stories about the strange, lonely and misunderstood.

Their debut feature film, MAN UNDERGROUND, won "Best First Feature" at the Fantasia Film Festival and was distributed with a limited theatrical release.

They went on to participate in The Gotham’s TV Series Lab with the proof-of-concept pilot I ADORE DOLORES, which won “Most Outrageous” at the Orlando Film Festival, and was named one of Vulture’s “Must-Watch Comedy Shorts” and NoBudge’s “Best Films of 2020.”

Just before the pandemic, they were selected for the 2020 Frontières Financing & Packaging Forum in Karlskrona, Sweden, where they pitched their western horror/drama feature DESERT WITCH.

They’ve since completed the improvised comedy short MAGGIE SO LOW, named one of NoBudge’s “Best Films of 2021,” and their drama feature screenplay SWING LOW was a finalist in the 2022 Emerging Screenwriters Genre Competition.

In 2022, their upcoming horror/drama feature SURGAT was selected for the Frontières International Co-Production Market. The film is currently in the financing stage, with Josh Ruben (WEREWOLVES WITHIN) producing, and Francesca Reale (STRANGER THINGS), Dagmara Domińczyk (SUCCESSION), and Tony Cavalero (THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES) attached to star.

Mike and Sam first met in college, graduating with BFAs from the film conservatory at SUNY Purchase, where they later went on to teach film production and screenwriting.

In their downtime, they write and record music with their punk band, BLOAF. Check out their debut EP “Sounds Bad Man” on Spotify.
